World Government:

The World Government, as the name implies, is a govenrning body that unifies over 170 nations under a single organization. The World Government was founded by 20 kingdoms, known as the First Twenty, around 800 years ago and has continued to expand authority up to the present day. Currently, it is headed by the Five Elders who are considered the greatest authority and who live atop the Red Line along with the society of people known as Celestial Dragons who are descendents of the First Twenty. Additionally, the World Government controls multiple massive military forces such as the Marines, Cipher Pol, and more recently the Seraphim, to help protect people from threats such as Pirates and maintain order and justice.

Marines:

The Marines exist as one of the great powers of the world, working directly under the World Government and comprises of a massive naval force that stretches to different branches all over the world. They are headed by the Fleet Admiral, currently Sakazuki, with a league of ranks ranging below him from Admirals to Seamen Recruits. The Marines power extends vastly, comprising of secretive units like SWORD, living weapons called Pacifistas, and control over the Shichibukai/王下七武海, or Seven Warlords of the Sea, who are pirates that effectively work for the World Government in exchange for the freedom to continue living as pirates.

Revolutionary Army:

The Revolutionary Army is a military orgainzation that directly rebels against the World Government, inspiring the people of corrupt and/or oppressed countries to rise up and seperate themselves from their rulers for a more just society. Monkey D. Dragon, the supreme commander and head, began the movement under the name of Freedom Fighters before expanding it into what it currently is. Currently, it is a massive force and significant threat to the World Government, enough so that the World Government is going so far as to eliminate whole countries who have been inspired to dissent.
