Trivia:

  • The title of this chapter is most likely a reference to poem No. 555 from the 4th volume of the Man'yōshū, a collection of over 4000 Japanese Poems from 759 AD.
    • Full poem: "The sake I brewed to drink with you, I drink alone in the field of peace, for I no longer have a friend to drink it with." ( 君がため醸みし待酒安の野にひとりや飲まむ友なしにして ) [2]
    • This is most likely a reference to the relationship between Ace and Yamato as they shared sake in this chapter during their meeting but Ace was not able to return before his death during Marineford.
  • While this chapters color spread was broken in half to celebrate the 1000th chapters release, the full color spread was also revealed seperately.
    • Oda confirmed the similarities between the Chapter 100 and Chapter 1000 color spreads in SBS Vol. 99.
